The Power Of Habits

There are only ever really 2 things that motivates us. The avoidance of pain and the pursuit of pleasure. Ever wanted something really badly? A new car for example. Imagining yourself driving that new car, evokes feelings of pleasure and motivates you to start saving money, in order to save up to afford that new car. On the other hand, ever looked in the mirror and felt disheartened, upset, at your lowest? The pain of these emotions is what motivates you to get in the gym and start changing your eating. Carrying this on though, what happens when after a few weeks of ‘dieting’ and ‘exercising’ it starts to get hard to say no to the biscuits in the office, dragging yourself to the gym after work becomes a chore.
